RING
The original is a little bit cheesy and too convenient with the psychic exposition. a big part of its charm is in the bizarre way it's fragmented together with unexplained visions, feelings, and apparitions. It's shot so beautifully and has a lot of very atmospheric tender moments despite or maybe because of the impending doom of everyone involved. I absolutely love the shot of them on the boat heading back to find the well, it's romantic in it's composition. the only genuinely terrifying part was when ryuji descends into the well under the cabin and we see them slowly dredge the water as the sun sets behind them, running out of time.
